The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) has implemented a new process for families applying for multiple-entry tourist visas. Previously, families had to apply for each member separately, but the ICP now offers the option for families to apply as a group, streamlining the process. The visa, valid for five years, is issued to families with children below the age of 18, allowing them to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days at a time. The visa can be extended for a maximum of 180 days during the year.

To apply for the visa, families must submit a coloured photo, a copy of their passport, valid medical insurance, a valid ticket to leave the UAE, a bank statement for the previous six months showing a balance of at least $4,000 (or its equivalent in foreign currencies), and proof of their place of residence, such as a hotel or residence address. The visa costs Dh750, in addition to a security deposit of Dh3,025.

The ICP has seen high demand for the new visa, applicants can apply individually on the ICP website or through the documents clearing service providers. The visa’s multiple-entry feature saves families from the hassle of applying for a visa each time they visit. The move is part of the UAE’s sweeping reforms announced last year to attract more tourists.
